Come at Your Own Risk: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Slapped at Jan Sunwai!

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been in the spotlight twice in recent days — first for a sarcastic remark at a press conference, and later for a shocking attack at a public meeting.

At the press meet, when asked how stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra should approach if he planned to hold a show in Delhi, Gupta joked: “He is supposed to come at his own risk.” The comment quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions.

Soon after, at a Jan Sunwai public hearing, the Chief Minister faced a disturbing incident. A man from the crowd suddenly walked up and slapped her. Security personnel rushed in, controlled the situation, and took the attacker into custody.

Gupta was left shaken but not seriously hurt. Later, she assured her supporters that she was “fine and not afraid.” Doctors confirmed only minor redness on her cheek and a slight hand strain.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the reason behind the attack. While personal anger is suspected, officials say other possibilities are also being looked at.

The incident has raised strong reactions. Leaders from Gupta’s party condemned the act, calling it shameful, while opposition members criticized the lack of proper security.

To prevent a repeat, Gupta’s security has now been tightened, with more guards deployed at her office and home.

Between her “come at your own risk” comment and the slap incident, Gupta has become the center of debate. Still, she has made it clear that she will continue meeting the public and will not back down.
