Why It Was Called
The activists demanded pensions for agitators and jobs for their dependents, among other demands. Organisers had also warned of a fast to death if the demands were not met.
Where It Had an Effect
- Palamu: stronger impact in Medininagar, where protesters carrying bows, arrows and traditional weapons blocked Redma Chowk
- Giridih: the Giridih-Dumri main road was blocked near the old toll plaza at Paparwatand
- Bokaro: a road blockade at ITI Mor in Chas disrupted local and goods vehicles
Where Life Went On
Normal life stayed largely unaffected in several urban centres, including the capital Ranchi, where protesters only briefly disrupted traffic near Albert Ekka Chowk in the morning.
