Apple is set to make a big splash in India once again with the launch of its third official retail store, Apple Hebbal, on September 2, 2025. Located inside Phoenix Mall of Asia on Bellary Road, Bengaluru, the store will feature Apple’s full range of products—from iPhones and iPads to Macs and accessories. It will also host “Today at Apple” sessions, free learning workshops designed to help people make the most out of their Apple devices.
This opening follows the success of Apple BKC (Mumbai) and Apple Saket (New Delhi), marking another milestone in Apple’s growing retail presence in India.
Bengaluru: Apple’s New Powerhouse in India
Bengaluru is quickly becoming Apple’s biggest hub outside the US. The company recently leased 268,737 sq ft at Embassy Zenith for office space and an additional 11,000 sq ft for the new Hebbal store. Earlier in 2024, Apple also took up 410,000 sq ft at Prestige Mink Square, cementing Bengaluru as its largest operational base beyond Cupertino.
A Manufacturing Shift from China to India
Apple is also making India a major part of its global manufacturing strategy. The tech giant is gradually moving iPhone assembly from China to India, with plans to fully produce iPhones for the US market in India by 2026.
Production of the upcoming iPhone 17 has already started at Foxconn’s Bengaluru facility. In fiscal year 2024 alone, about 25% of Apple’s total global output—around 30 to 40 million units—came from India through partners like Tata Electronics, Foxconn, and Pegatron.
Why India Matters More Than Any Other Country
India is not just a production base for Apple—it’s also a booming consumer market. During the April–June quarter, Apple saw double-digit growth in India across iPhones, Macs, and services. Globally, iPhone sales jumped 13.4% to $44.6 billion, thanks largely to the iPhone 16 series, helping Apple’s quarterly revenue climb to $94 billion.
The Bigger Picture
With the launch of Apple Hebbal, rising investments in office spaces, and a massive boost in manufacturing, Apple is sending a clear message: India is central to its future. The country is shaping up not just as a huge sales market, but also as a critical manufacturing and operational hub in Apple’s global strategy.
As Tim Cook often says, Apple sees India as a place of “tremendous opportunity.” And with Apple Hebbal opening its doors this September.
